Azure VM Reserve Instance - how I can see find my azure VM pay as you go charge if my azure vm reserver instance is over.

In my azure environment we have already using azure vm Reserve Instance. But in our cost optimisation recommendation page still recommending for many servers. We have we have selected size flexibility options. Our RI utilisation are 100%. I wonder how and where in our azure portal I can see that vm pay-as you go charge when reserve instance is over.

If not all VMs are covered by the RI, it will still give the recommendations based on usage.

So, see whether all compute is covered by RIs or not :

Go to Cost Analysis in Cost Management and Billing

Select Amortized Costs

Set group by as Pricing Model

Set Granularity as Daily/Monthly

Switch to Column Stacked chart

If you look at the Cost Analysis section of the Microsoft Cost Management service it will show the virtual machines that have a compute cost associated with them. These are PAYG costs.

Depending on your Azure subscription type, you may be able to see costs associated with your RIs here also but essentially you need to track your costs here. If you have RIs that cover all of your Virtual Machines fully then there should be no VM compute costs showing here. Anything that is not covered by RIs will appear here as PAYG compute costs.
