I am not able to create a lakehouse within Microsoft Fabric

Hello!

I am following the instructions provided in this learning path: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/examine-components-of-modern-data-warehouse/?WT.mc_id=cloudskillschallenge_3fcbbc04-7933-414d-9b18-55cf703ebbaa

When I am completing the lab I can not create a datalake within the interface of Microsoft Fabric. Instead, it appears a message that says the following:

User's image

Then, I created the resource within my Azure subscription:

User's image

I try one more time to create a datalake but the message still appears:

User's image

So, it is a continous cicle with the same prompt. What do you suggest me to do?

Thank you very much,

Fernando

    Hi Carlos Fernando Aguilar González,

Thank you for providing the screenshot and link. We have successfully executed the lab on our end, using the default workspace ("My Workspace") to create a Lakehouse without encountering any issues. Attached below are the screenshots for your reference:

    22-3

Upon starting a Fabric trial, it is important to note that the trial capacity comes with 64 capacity units (CU). Access to this capacity is granted once items are added to the workspace or a new workspace is created. We have assigned "My Workspace" to the trial capacity using the Trial license mode, as demonstrated in the screenshot below:

    22-6

Additionally, the capacity settings in the admin portal display the 64 capacity units (CU), as shown in the following screenshot:

    User's image

You can cross-check whether the workspace is assigned to a capacity and view the capacity usage report by clicking on "Trial." under the capacity name in the admin portal, as indicated in the screenshot below:

    22-7

Furthermore, you can access the capacity metrics using the provided link:

    https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/power-bi/pbi_pcmm.microsoftpremiumfabricpreviewreport?exp=ubp8&tab=DetailsAndSupport

Please be aware that initiating a trial may not be possible if your tenant has reached its limit of trial capacities. In such cases, you have the following options:

    1. Purchase a Fabric capacity from Azure by searching for "Microsoft Fabric."
    2. Request another trial capacity user to share their trial capacity workspace with you. Ensure users have access to workspaces.
    3. To increase tenant trial capacity limits, contact your Fabric administrator to create a Microsoft support ticket.

Should you continue to encounter issues, please provide screenshots for further assistance. We are here to help.

    Thank you.

    Hi Carlos Fernando Aguilar González,

We appreciate your engagement on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

As noted in the lab instructions, a Microsoft school or work account is required to complete the exercise. Could you kindly confirm the type of account you are utilizing to access the Microsoft Fabric license?

Please be informed of the latest update regarding Microsoft Fabric capacity usage:

The extended preview period for Microsoft Fabric will conclude on September 30th, 2023, as announced in July. Commencing October 1st, workload usage will be counted against capacity limits, and these limits will be enforced. Additionally, storage consumption will become chargeable.

Users currently on a Fabric trial will have their workload usage applied against their pre-allocated trial capacity. The 60-day Fabric free trial offers 64 capacity units, enabling users to explore Fabric functionalities comprehensively and determine the appropriate SKU size to match their needs. For those requiring additional capacity or whose trial has expired, Fabric pay-as-you-go capacities can be purchased through the Azure portal. Furthermore, reserved instance capacities will be introduced soon, offering enhanced discounts through pre-commitment.

For further details, please refer to the following link: Link to Microsoft Fabric usage update page.

Should you find this information beneficial, we kindly request you to acknowledge the response by clicking the "Upvote" and "Accept Answer" buttons.

If you continue to encounter issues, please feel free to attach screenshots for reference and notify us in the comments. We are here to assist you.

(NOTE: Please ensure all personal details are concealed before posting).

    Thank you.

    Hello @Anonymous , @anand and @Anonymous

Thank you very much for your answers.

I have credits for my participation as MLSA but my specific issue occurs when I want to create a datalake. I am following the instruction 2 that you can review here under the Create a lakehouse section: https://microsoftlearning.github.io/DP-900T00A-Azure-Data-Fundamentals/Instructions/Labs/dp900-04b-fabric-lake-lab.html

Do you have an idea why does it occur?

    Thank you,

    Fernando
