What's going on with the flexible mysql database ?

For several days now, I've been experiencing completely unexplained cpu load peaks on my flexible mysql server (B1MS).

No metrics, no maintenance, no increase in requests or connections are to blame at this time. As proof, I've disconnected my applications, and access server is not public. I've followed the documentation in case of problems, which isn't very helpful.

For the test, I recreated a new instance, without doing anything other than creating the server. The result: CPU load peaks of 30% at regular intervals. As a result, all burstable credits are gradually disappearing.

Is this microsoft's strategy to force us to take a server on a plan that costs more?

Has anyone ever experienced this problem?

Hi @Zhaerius,

It seems that the issue is related to some Burstable B1s or B1ms MySQL flexible servers, where CPU usage is high. Using 1 vcore with MySQLFS consumed CPU Credit and CPU can be heavily utilized.

As per the product team, the recommendation is, for production workloads, transitioning to either the General Purpose or Business Critical tiers.
Please review performance limitations of burstable series instances 
The Burstable tier is ideally more suited for non-production environments. To specifically address CPU-related issues, advise transitioning from the B1s/B1ms size to the B2s or B2ms, or a higher SKU.
