How to fix wrong time zone on windows 10

Question

Only some of our users who are working from home and have Rogers internet experience incorrect time zones on their Windows 10 machines. When they are at the office, the time is correct, but when they work from home, it shows the wrong time on their Windows 10 machines, and they are all using Rogers internet. Why is this happening, and how can it be fixed? When they connect to our vpn time correct itself.

Open Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time > Set Time Zone: Manually select the correct time zone from the dropdown menu.

Settings > Time & Language > Date & time.

Click on Additional date, time & regional settings.

Under Date & time, select Set the time and date.

Go to the Internet Time tab and click Change settings.

Ensure the Synchronize with an internet time server checkbox is selected.

In the server dropdown menu, choose a reliable time server like time.windows.com.

Click Update now and then OK on both windows.

It's possible that the incorrect time zone is being set by the Rogers internet service provider's network time protocol (NTP) server. To fix this issue, you can try changing the time zone settings on the affected Windows 10 machines to the correct time zone manually.

1. Click on the Start menu and select Settings.
2. Click on Time & Language.
3. Click on Date & Time.
4. Toggle the "Set time zone automatically" option to Off.
5. Select the correct time zone from the drop-down menu.
6. Toggle the "Set time zone automatically" option back to On.

If the issue persists, you can try changing the NTP server settings on the affected Windows 10 machines to use a different NTP server. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click on the Start menu and select Settings.
2. Click on Time & Language.
3. Click on Date & Time.
4. Toggle the "Set time automatically" option to Off.
5. Click on the "Add clocks for different time zones" link.
6. Click on the "Internet Time" tab.
7. Click on the "Change settings" button.
8. Enter a different NTP server address in the "Server" field.
9. Click on the "Update now" button to synchronize the time with the new NTP server.

I tried these both steps above didn't work as soon as user restarts the computer wrong time zone again 🙃
