Hi,
Over the weekend, I downgraded the elasticpool spec from 300 to 200 DTU under the same Standard Service Tier as the original was under utilized. I ran the Azure metrics to see if there were any changes to utilization and whilst I expected there would be some changes, I didn't think the change would be significant. For example, after the downgrade, why did the eDTU Used jumped to 100% even though there were no changes to the underline DB? A 10-20% jump would be reasonable. This was over the weekend when no one was using the DB. The same goes for other metrics as well.
Can someone with experience in this area explain what could have been the cause in this jump please? Thank you

Vinodh247-1375 12,506 Reputation points2024-06-11T08:53:21.0333333+00:00 are you sure no underlying workloads or active queries are running that are causing the spike? even during weekends when no one is actively using the database, background processes (such as maintenance tasks, index rebuilds, or statistics updates) can impact resource utilization.
