How does edge expire cookies

How does Edge expire cookies?

I see cookies with the state "Expires" = "When the browsing session ends".

When I stop and restart Edge, the cookies are still there.

So how does Edge deal with them and how are they expired?

    Based on your description, I recommend that you use the "DefaultCookiesSetting" policy and set the value to "Keep cookies for the duration of the session, except ones listed in SaveCookiesOnExit" (SessionOnly (4)), so that the cookies can be cleared at the end of the session.
