Thank you for your response.

I have been following the instructions in the course manual precisely, using the exact server name and database specified: localhost\SQLEXPRESS and for database TailwindTraders. I have also used the exact SQL extraction code provided. I signed into my Power BI account and attempted the connection several times.

Although the pop-up message indicated that the connection was successful, I encountered an error during the login process. The error message stated: "SSL provider, error 0 - the certificate chain issued by the authority is not trusted."

I am unsure how to resolve this issue and would appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Hello Syed,

Thank you for your follow-up and sorry for my late reply. Unfortunately, I am still unable to connect to the server. The same error message continues to appear every time I attempt to connect:

"Details: 'Microsoft SQL: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted.)'"

I also tried to follow your guidance, but Power BI is not allowing me to proceed to the next step without filling out the database name. The "OK" button does not become active if I leave the database name field blank. As a result, it is still not working for me.

Could you please assist in resolving this issue? Your help is much appreciated.

Hello Sayid,

I wanted to provide some additional information regarding the issues I've been experiencing.

Firstly, the method you provided works on the virtual machine that Microsoft Lab provides through the link. However, as I mentioned earlier, the desktop version of Power BI does not activate the "OK" button unless the database name is filled in. This has prevented me from proceeding further.

Additionally, I've encountered missing data in the lab environment. The local disk D was empty, and most of the tasks or instructions in the lab required access to data that was supposed to be on the local disk D. For example, there were no files available in the following locations:

"In the Open window, navigate to the D:\Allfiles\Labs\01-prepare-data-with-power-query-in-power-bi-desktop\Starter folder."

"In the Open window, navigate to the D:\Allfiles\Resources folder, and select the ResellerSalesTargets.csv file."

These files were not found on the local D disk, which has made it impossible for me to complete the tasks as instructed.

Could you please assist in resolving these issues? Your help is much appreciated.
