Did Azure stop support or adding features to Azure Synapse Studio?

Hello Azure Support Team and Azure experts,

I am writing to express my concern regarding the current state of Azure Synapse Studio. As a dedicated user of this service, I have noticed that there have been no significant updates or new features added to Azure Synapse Studio for over a year. The last update dates back to first half of 2023, and since the introduction of Microsoft Fabric, it appears that Azure Synapse Studio has not received the attention it once did.

Azure Synapse Studio is a crucial tool for our data analytics and management workflows, and its robustness and feature set have been instrumental in our operations. However, the lack of updates is becoming increasingly problematic as we rely on continuous improvements and new features to enhance our productivity and stay competitive.

Specifically, I have a few concerns and requests:

Ongoing Support and Maintenance:

• Will Azure Synapse Studio continue to receive support and maintenance?
  • If so, could you provide a timeline or roadmap for upcoming updates?
  Feature Enhancements:

  - Are there plans to introduce new features to Azure Synapse Studio?
  
     - Can we expect enhancements that align with the latest advancements in data analytics and management?
  
     **Integration with Microsoft Fabric:**
  
        - How does Azure Synapse Studio fit into the broader strategy with Microsoft Fabric?
  
           - Will there be efforts to ensure seamless integration and feature parity between Azure Synapse Studio and the tools offered in Microsoft Fabric?
  

1. Community Engagement:
   • Can the Azure team provide more regular communication or updates regarding the status and future plans for Azure Synapse Studio?

The lack of recent updates is a cause for concern among many in the community who depend on Azure Synapse Studio for critical business operations(Delta, Spark and other big data tools are improving really well providing us new better features but we cannot utilize these new features in this freezed Synapse ecosystem). I strongly urge the Azure team to continue investing in this platform, ensuring it remains a leading tool for data professionals.

I will recommend this is posted here https://feedback.azure.com/d365community in the feedback portal as Engineers check frequently on highly voted and requested posts.

There is no current official update on end of life/stopped support as of now. I recommend keeping an eye on the Azure Updates page for the latest information on service updates and new features.
