.Net Framework 4.8 is a part of Windows 10; therefore, its life cycle is dictated by the Windows 10 life cycle.

Will 4.8 be included in the next OS cycle and extend its support as Windows 10's end of support is in 2025?

Hi,@Suneel Kumar Nadavati . Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

There is no official confirmation whether .NET Framework 4.8 will be included in future versions of Windows.

Microsoft is encouraging developers to migrate applications to .NET 5 and beyond (now simply referred to as .NET). .NET provides more modern features, better performance, and a unified platform for building applications.

    Recommendations:

For New Development: Use .NET 6 (LTS) or .NET 7 (the latest stable version) to ensure you are using the most up-to-date framework with long-term support.

For Existing Applications on .NET Framework 4.8: Consider planning a migration strategy to move to .NET 6 or later versions to benefit from future updates, performance improvements, and extended support timelines.
