I bought MS Office 2013 including Outlook for my Windows 7 Computer. I want both on my Windows 10 computer. What are my options? Can I uninstall and reinstall? Or upgrade?

I'm switching everything from my Dell Windows 7 desktop to one with Windows 10. I want to be able to continue using Outlook for my emails as well as Word and Excel. I would prefer a onetime purchase rather than paying an annual fee. I would be satisfied just moving the 2013 version over if it would work OK with Windows 10, or I can upgrade if necessary.

Microsoft Office 2013 is generally compatible with Windows 10, so you should be able to move your existing 2013 version of Outlook, Word, and Excel to your new Windows 10 desktop without major issues.

If you prefer a one-time purchase rather than an annual subscription, you have a few options: a. Keep using Office 2013 if it meets your needs. b. Upgrade to Office 2019 or Office 2021, which are both available as one-time purchases.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

According to my search and research, Microsoft Office 2013 is compatible with Windows 10, so you can use it on your new computer. But in use, you may have some problems, refer to the links: Errors opening Office files after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 - Microsoft Support

And according to the official documentation I searched: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/which-versions-of-office-work-with-windows-10-0fc85c97-da69-466e-b2b4-54f7d7275705

The following versions of Office have been fully tested and are supported on Windows 10. They will still be installed on your computer after the upgrade to Windows 10 is complete.

    Office 365 (Version 16)

    Office 2019 (Version 16)

    Office 2016 (Version 16)

It lists the versions of Office that have been tested and confirmed to support Windows 10, while Office 2013 does not appear on this list. And after April 11, 2023, Microsoft's support for Office 2013 has ended.

So, to be on the safe side, I recommend you buy the full version of Office 2016, 2019, 2021 and install it. These editions offer a one-time purchase without an annual subscription fee, and once purchased, you can use these Office applications on your PC forever.

For more information on how to upgrade Office, please refer to the following links: How do I upgrade Office? - Microsoft Support

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Yanhong Liu
