Hi,

We have a 2 nodes windows cluster.

There is 1 unplugged NIC in node A didn't show in cluster manager. However, when I disable it, the shared disk in the cluster will disappear.

Any idea?

    Hey,

How is your shared disk configured? Your cluster should have redundant connection to the storage to avoid outages. Here is a nice article: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/failover-clustering/failover-clustering-networking-basics-and-fundamentals/ba-p/1706005

In addition, if you want to have redundant storage between the nodes, StarWind VSAN can be used. Might help: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resource-library/starwind-virtual-san-for-hyper-v-2-node-hyperconverged-scenario-with-windows-server-2016/

    Hi Chong,

    Hope you're doing well.

    1. Ensure that your cluster network settings are correctly configured. Disabling the NIC, even if it's unplugged, might affect the cluster network communication.
    2. Verify the settings for your CSV. Sometime, changes in network configuration can cause the cluster to lose access to shared storage.
    3. In addition, use the cluster validation to check the status of your cluster configuration. See if there are any errors or warnings that might indicate why the disk is disappearing.

    Best Regards,

    Ian Xue
