Issues with Remote Desktop Connection Manager Stalling During MFA Authentication

In my organization, remote desktop connections must go through a gateway server with MFA for security reasons. If I miss the MFA prompt on my phone due to an incoming call, I cannot reconnect to the server, and I'm unable to disconnect and reconnect to other servers in Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCM). The current version of RDCM doesn't matter in this scenario. The only way to connect again is by restarting the RDCM application, which then prompts for MFA approval on all servers active in my last successful session.

Is there a command in RDCM that can reset a stuck connection to the proxy server that is waiting for successful MFA approval?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community forum.

I'm sorry but based on my research, nothing in RDCMan is specifically designed to reset a stuck connection to a proxy server. If RDCMan does not respond well to a manual disconnection, you might consider restarting the specific RDP process associated with that server using Windows Task Manager. This forces the RDCMan to try to reconnect and triggers the MFA prompt again. Additionally, you can wait for the MFA session to time out. The system may reset the connection itself after a period of time, allowing you to try to reconnect.
