Hi @Yousuf
According to your case description, Microsoft Teams automatically opens when a new message is received. You can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Open the Teams app and select "Settings" in the upper right corner. Select "Notifications and activities", find "Show" and "Chat message notifications", and change them to "Show only in the app" or "Off".
If this does not solve the problem, you can also try to turn off automatic startup: In the Teams app, select "Settings". In the "General" tab, uncheck "Auto start Teams". Then clear the Teams cache:

Had this issue appear for someone else.
Disabling the notifications again after this didn't seem to have any affect on the behaviour. Hopefully this solves the issue for other people coming across this post.
To stop Microsoft Teams from automatically opening when a new message arrives, follow these steps:
Disable Pop-Up Notifications
Open Teams and click your profile picture (top-right corner).
Go to Settings (⚙️) > Notifications & activity.
Under Notifications:
Set Show message preview in taskbar to Offf.
In Settings, go to Appearance.
Uncheck the option: Open application on notification.
Adjust System Settings (Windows)
On Windows, ensure Focus Assist is configured to suppress notifications during specific times or activities (via Windows Settings > System > Focus Assist).
Optional: Mute Notifications Entirely
Right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar and select Mute notifications for temporary silence.
This will keep Teams running in the background without interrupting your workflow.
