I guess not then!
Azure Advisor 'Shutdown or resize your virtual machine' Cost recommendation.
I'm trying to see if there is a way of changing Azure Advisor Cost recommendations so that they look at a virtual machines performance over a month, rather than a week? In particular it is the 'Shut down or resize your virtual machine' recommendation I am concerned with.
Evaluating over one week is too short a time frame to accurately ascertain whether a virtual machine is under utilised or not - for example if an application runs something monthly for example an application doing a payroll run) then a recommendation may be made to resize it, leaving it under-specced when the application is used at month end.

When signed in as a user with the correct role assigned: When in cost management you can select your commentment equals to flag. This will give you recommendations relevant to your contract commitments. When you want to change the lookback period of the recommendations it self, you can do this in one of two ways. Depending on your needs:
- change lookback period globally
- from "cost analysis" go to "configure management group"
- then click on advisor settings
- then click vm/vmss right sizing tab
- select the relevant subscriptions
- click edit
- select the desired lookback period
- click apply
- Change lookback period on specific recommendation
- click on the desired recommendation
- click "configure recommendation rule"
- then click vm/vmss right sizing tab
- elect the relevant subscriptions
- select the desired lookback period
- click apply Please mark as Accepted answer if this helped you, so others can find the answer too. Thanks.
