How to get PDFs to open into a browser from File Explorer?

I know this question sounds like I'm an idiot. In the last couple of days I've come up with a new issue. It very well could be a Chrome issue and not a Windows issue, but I'm really not sure. I have Chrome set as my default way to open a PDF, so it used to be that if I double click on a PDF (or if I drag it into Chrome onto a new tab) it automatically and immediately opens into a new tab on Chrome. If I want to upload a PDF to a website I can also drag it from file explorer into Chrome and then it will drop into the upload box of that website. Currently neither of those things are working, when I double-click on a PDF it does not open, when I right click and hit open it doesn't open, and when I try the other 4 ways to open the PDF it doesn't open.

If I copy in the path, the way that it usually shows up in the link portion of Chrome, it pops up and works just fine. If I click select attachment and then go through file explorer to select my file, it works just fine. It seems to be there's something wrong with the Drag & Drop feature and I'm really not sure who's at fault here or what changed. When I drag the file and then hover over Chrome instead of showing a PDF looking icon it just shows the ⌀ symbol and seems to not do anything, whether I try and open it as a new tab, or if I try to drop it in an upload box on a website.

I don't really know what changed but everything is working fine now??? Soooo pray to the computer gods if you have this issue and it might fix itself.
