Help with Sharepoint (new user)

Morning,

Due to covid staffing issues I have inherited ownership of our shop's sharepoint site / ticketing system. I'm comfortable using our site but have no idea how it functions or how to edit it. I don't even know the correct vernacular to use in order to search a question. I basically need to create a new, active version for 2021, so new entries will start back at zero. I figured out how to create a template from our 2020 list, but cannot figure out how to make it active. New entries I test with still populate in last year's site. Does that make sense to anyone?

    Here are a few things you can do to get start with SharePoint:

    1. You can refer to the document to find out which version of SharePoint you are using. Management process will be quite different in SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online.
    2. If you want to start the SharePoint site over with new lists and entries, you can create a brand-new site for the 2021 ticketing system.

    3. To get further information on how to work with SharePoint, I recommend you follow the training courses provided by Microsoft or other institutions you can reach.
