c:/users/username/appdata/local/temp folder contents

I am trying to clean up my system by deleting cookies, viruses, and all that.  This process led me to a folder that looks like cookies and temporary files but does not empty via any of the settings for "Disk Cleanup" or "Delete History/Cookies/Temp" operations.  Does anyone know if the C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Local/Temp folder typically holds anything that will "break" a PC if deleted, or can I wipe the entire folder?  The name of the folder "temp" suggests that its contents are intended to be temporary and deleted regularly but I'd like to be reasonably sure before I go all kill-happy.

    Hi,

You can delete everything in there except there may be some programs active that writes to that

folder and if so those will not delete (will give a write- protect message).

A good tool that allows adding your own folders for clean-up is CCleaner.

    CCleaner - Free

    http://www.ccleaner.com/

    CCleaner - Forums

    http://forum.piriform.com/

    Hope this helps.
