    Hi Jarrad,

We need more information to be able to help you better with this query:

    1)      What exactly do you mean by ‘a install for shredder keeps opening’? Are you getting a Windows installed wizard to install a shredder software?

    2)      Have you installed any shredder software to delete the files more securely?

    3)      Did this issue start recently? Do you remember making any recent changes to the computer prior to this issue?

This could happen if you have installed any third party shredder software or if any malware or other security threats are installed in the computer without your knowledge. I would suggest you to try these steps and check:

First, I would suggest you to check if any shredder program is installed in the computer. Some times when you install third party freeware, they may install additional software. So I would suggest you to check for any shredder program or any other suspicious program in the ‘programs and features’ window. Refer to these steps:

    a)      Press Windows key + X, select ‘programs and features’.

    b)      Check for the software in the list of installed programs.

    c)       If you find it, right click and select uninstall.

If you couldn’t find any shredder program or any other suspicious program in the list of installed programs, then I would suggest you to run a complete security scan and check. Make sure that the antivirus software is updated with the recent virus signatures before you run a security scan.

You can also download and run the Microsoft Security Scanner from here:

    http://safety.live.com

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for using an antivirus software program that provides ongoing protection. Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to post a screenshot of the issue so that we can help you better. Check out this article for a quick guide on posting screenshots in this forum:

Keep us updated on the issue. We’d be happy to help if you need any further assistance.

I had the same issue, solved this by uninstalling the installer.
