Can a person rename a file someone else has uploaded on teams using another persons name by loging into there account on Microsoft Teams, while a session is ongoing. since this happend to my sister.

While watching her session online we were able to see someone using her account change other students files and calling them unwanted names etc.

I want to kmow if anyone has undergone this sort of a thing.

    Hi @GenishaDassanayake-0319,

You can't rename the file if it is open with another user.

I tested it in my lab environment. It says "The file is locked for shared use by user@domain.com".

If file isn't open, another user can rename it. The user also must have privileges.

    Hi GenishaDassanayake-0319,

As TKujala said, user can rename file when the file isn’t opened by others.

It recommends the administrator avoid this thing by modifying your sister’s password.

In addition, if the permission of files is read-only, user cannot rename it.

You can manage file or folder access to read-only by the following steps:

    1. Go to SharePoint, navigate to the root of the library where you can see the corresponding channel folder, such as General folder.
    2. Click the share button, up on the right in the share dialog box, click the three dots, choose manage access.
    3. Set the permissions to read for members.
