question on 365 hybrid mode and retention policies

Question

So I am in hybrid mode, mailboxes are on 365, but we still have onsite exchange 2013 server for management.

I created a new retention policy and retention tags on 365 site.

But to enable archiving for my mailbox, I seems I have to enable it from my onsite exchange server ecp, so how do I apply the new retention policy to it then? can someone provide the steps?

Here are detailed information about it: Archive mailbox can't be provisioned or deprovisioned after a mailbox is migrated to Office 365 Dedicated/ITAR vNext

Based on my testing, you can enable Archive for this mailbox from Exchange on-premises EAC directly, it will create an Exchange online hold Archive:
