100% disk error

Anonymous

I just spent 30 minutes watching my computer and its 100% disk error. Multiply that by the hundreds if not thousands of times it has already happened, and imagine my frustration.

Still can't figure out why a multi-zillion dollar corporation doesn't want to fix its defective product.

Any ideas?

    Hello ,

I’m here to help you in resolving your issue

    Disable SysMain (Superfetch) Service

This service often spikes disk usage unnecessarily.

    1: Press Windows + R > type services.msc > Enter

    2: Scroll to SysMain

3: Right-click > Properties > Set Startup type to Disabled

    4: Click Stop > Apply > OK

    Turn Off Windows Search Indexing

    1: Press Windows + R > type services.msc

    2: Find Windows Search

3: Right-click > Properties > Disable it (set to "Disabled" and Stop)

Turn Off Scheduled Defrag on SSD

If you have an SSD, defragging it is not helpful—can even wear it out faster.

1: Click on Start Menu > Type Defragment and Optimize Drives

2: Click your drive > Change settings

3: Uncheck "Run on a schedule" > OK
