For a month now, Excel (Office 265) has been sticking when closing. Even when Excel is opened without a file, and then closed, this problem occurs. Word and PowerPoint do not have this problem. If I start Excel in safe mode the problem does not occur, but no add-ons are active.

I have already completely reinstalled Office once , but the problem remains.

The log indicates the following (translated from Dutch):

The program EXCEL.EXE, version 16.0.14026.20270 is no longer responding to Windows and has been shut down. To see if more information about the problem is available, see the problem history in the Security and Maintenance section of the Control Panel.

In windows save mode Excel won't start. I think it needs a service that doesn't start automatically.

In Excel save mode (Excel /safe; windows normal mode) it will start and the problem is gone. Making al link isn't the solution for me be course I normally start Excel by kicking on a file.

When I open Excel (in normal mode) there are no add-ins active.

I will try to create a new account with all rights and a linked MsAccount and than delete the old account. Hopefully no side-affects will occur by deleting the original administrator account.
