Hyper-V 2019 Server -- unable to transfer files to Guest

All integration services and Enhanced Mode are turned on. Unable to transfer files using any of the suggested methods. It would be nice if I could attach a USB drive to the free BSD12.2 VM, but that also is not possible. Integration tools simply do not work. I am guess I am spoiled with the ease of using RDP to connect to Window machines and being able to share drives easily. No idea what to do now.

  1. Unable to Mount vdhx to add file directly
  2. No GUI, this is Hyper-V server, no drag and drop option
  3. 7zip also fails to be able to do anything the vhdx
  4. I attempted VM export to Windows 10 machine to see it would fair better, but import on a fully updated Windows 10 Pro failed (some kind of error that was not possible to fix with mapping or anything, forced me out).
  5. Copy-VMFile bombs out: Copy-VMFile "pfsense CE" -SourcePath "C:\temp\FreeBSD\iavf-3.0.26.tar.gz" -DestinationPath "/home/files/intelvf" -CreateFullPath -FileSource Host
Copy-VMFile : Failed to initiate copying files to the guest.
Failed to copy the source file 'C:\temp\FreeBSD\iavf-3.0.26.tar.gz' to the destination '/home/files/intelvf' in the guest.
'pfsense CE' failed to initiate copying files to the guest: The device is not ready for use. (0x800710DF). (Virtual machine ID E400C8E2-F231-4A38-B3DD-113F2271E1BF)

    + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Copy-VMFile], VirtualizationException

Hyper-V networking is not functional for the guest until I can get the driver transferred and installed (Intel tar archive for iavf). I have spent all week on this. Frankly, the support of Hyper-V for *nix is less than desirable.

    Hi,
As far as I know, 12.2 is not supported.

    Thanks for your understanding.
    Best regards,
    Danny
