Even though I am logged into Teams and the application is open, I am not receiving notifications until I click on something in 'Teams' and am showing "offline" or "status unknown" to other people. I then have to put myself back into Available. How can I prevent this from happening?

    Hello,
At the moment, the only way to fix the ‘Status Unknown’ issue on Microsoft Teams is to change the Coexistence mode for your organization from ‘Islands’ to ‘Teams only’. Here it is:

Once you select this option, all users in your organization will be restricted to use only Teams for communication and collaboration.
You can check the availability of the fix in User Voice: 33978883--status-unknown-for-many-users

    Hi!

Does this issue persist all the time?

Does anyone else have the same issue in your organization?

Manu has provided a good direction of this issue. You can follow his solution to see if this issue can be fixed well.

Besides, you can also try to clear the Teams client:

    1. Quit Microsoft Teams (actually quit not just close it, right click and "Quit" or kill from the task manager)
    2. Open the File Explorer
    3. Navigate to %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams
    4. Select everything (files and folders) except for the "Backgrounds" folder and any ".json" files and delete them.
