I'm sure it's possible, but why reinvent the wheel? It's far easier to set up a few cells in a sheet and run the Solver from VBA.
How do you call the solver add-in from Excel into visual basic
I am trying to program a non-linear regression using the solver add-in. How do you call the solver into visual basic?

2011-05-31T19:58:53+00:00 Hans,
That link is very helpful. Can I trouble you and ask another question? If I wanted to stay completely in VBA and I want to perform an optimiztion (simplex) with a predefined equation in VBA is that possible?
thanks,
Laura

2011-05-31T20:37:23+00:00 Thanks Hans. This question was from a scientist I report to. He still is going to pursue trying to get it all in VBA. This is a bit above my knowledge level so I can't really describe the need he has to have it performed there. I think it is a flexibility issue with the data set differing in size. I really do appreciate all your input this last week. You have helped me significantly. Also the web link you provided has helped this scientist also.
