Help, my line spacing keeps changing in my text box when I save my document in Word

Hello.  I created a trifold brochure in Word 2007 and on one panel I have a text box where I entered some information.  I have single spacing that lists several events.  After I hit save and close the document, every single time I go back in, the line spacing changes to 1.5" spacing!  It is fine when I hit save and close, it's just when I go back in it has changed.  And I cannot figure out why!  The only way to set the spacing without it changing is to save as a PDF, but I need to send it to my customer in Word format so they can edit it (and they are not that good with Word).  Does anyone know what the problem might be?  Thank you in advance

PS - please don't ask why I did this in word, the customer wanted that

Yes, I have looked at the document at your first link, at https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?cid=E463C7E1E8737281&resid=E463C7E1E8737281!210&app=Word, which is working (the more recent link is not working at this time).

Assuming that I have been looking at the correct document (you do recognize my brief description of it?), what I found was a number of paragraph styles that were applied to text, and at least one of those styles has a line spacing of 1.5.

It sounds like you have ticked the setting to update styles from the attached template.

Show your Developer Tab and go to the second last button on the ribbon and check the setting in:

Developer Tab > Document Template > Automatically update document styles. This should be UNchecked to avoid the styles refreshing themselves from the template when you open the document.

I'm sorry I'm replying so late, my father passed away unexpectedly and I'm just catching up to my emails.  I did what you said, but the "auto update document styles" was already unchecked.  Thank you anyway

I'm sorry to hear about your father - please accept my condolences.

If you would like me to take a look at your document, I may be able to work out why it is changing when you open it. Can you post it here? If you like, you could remove most of the content as long as the problem is reproducible in the remainder.

Thank you.  It is after I close it and look at it in the preview pane that I realize that the spacing has changed.  I don't mind posting it here, I'll strip the 2nd page which has youth player info, but I don't see any option to attach it.
