Inserting a QR code in a Word document

I've created a QR code and downloaded it both as an svg and an EPs file.

When I try to insert in a document I get a blank square with a message that says "this image cannot be displayed at this time".

So how can I insert the QR code?

    Office doesn't have a graphics filter for SVG format, so it can't display or print them. The EPS file should be usable, as long as you have an EPS filter.

    Word 2013 (which is what you get in Office 365) can make QR codes by itself, though. In a document, the DisplayBarcode field in the paragraph

    The barcode for Microsoft is { DisplayBarcode http://www.microsoft.com QR \q 3 }

    displays as

    The field takes a number of switches, described at the DisplayBarcode page. For example, the \s switch controls the size of the result.

    Hi Jay,

    Thanks for the info.

    I actually solved it because when I went back to the site I created the code, it suddenly showed me a jpeg download, so I inserted that.

    I'll file your info about codes in Word for future use.... :-)

    If you need to convert an SVG image to a nonvector format like PNG, etc., you can use the standard free open-source application Inkscape for vector graphics (equivalent to Adobe Illustrator): http://www.inkscape.org/

    Hi Jay,

    Thank you for posting this!

    However, I was wondering how to insert the field, as it was not listed in Quick Parts in Word 2016, until I stumbled upon another post of yours here...

    Tried using Ctrl-F9 to convert the field code text into actual field code, and all is well.

    Thanks again!

    -Joshua
