Image Control Source Access 2010??

I am working with a form in Access and am trying to add an image based on a link that is in my table. I have searched online for a way to do this easily but nothing seems to work. Under the image properties in Control Source I am choosing the field that has the link for the pictures (in my case it is called PictureLink) but when I am in view mode the picture does not show up. I've checked the links and they all work. I am new to Access and don't know much of the coding, but if you explain step by step I would be happy with any answer.

I've tried using relative addressing in my demo file without any problem.  As regards downloading my demo, if you are on a corporate system it's possible that access to OneDrive has been blocked to prevent files with malicious content being downloaded.  Most people get round this by downloading the file at home and then mailing it to themselves at work, or copying it via a portable medium.  Alternatively, if you mail me at kenwsheridan<at>yahoo<dot>co<dot>uk I can send you the file directly.

Actually I finally managed to make it work but now have a new problem. I was using the relative path for the pictures. When I changed that it worked. However, I want to be able to use the relative paths (there is a high chance that I will be moving the folder with everything around). Anyway to make it work this way?

That is my problem. For some reason it isn't working and the path that I have works because when I click on the hyperlink it takes me to the images. The link that you sent me does not open in my computer for some reason. Are there any restrictions to using the image control source (maybe I'm doing something wrong)? Or is there another way to get to the same result? Thanks!

That should work, assuming that the 'link' is a path to a valid image file in a location on your system.  You might like to take a look at Images.zip in my public databases folder at:

    https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=44CC60D7FEA42912&id=44CC60D7FEA42912!169

Note that if you are using an earlier version of Access you might find that the colour of some form objects such as buttons shows incorrectly and you will need to  amend the form design accordingly.

If you have difficulty opening the link copy its text (NB, not the link location) and paste it into your browser's address bar.

The zip archive includes a number of files of varying degrees of complexity, but the basic Images_Simple.accdb file should provide an adequate model for what you are attempting.
