Hi ,

we have migrated all our mailboxes from an exchange2010 to the cloud with the minimal hybrid setup. (so no connectors created , ....)
Mail flow is pointing to O365 and the exchange2010 is not a virtual smtp server anymore for printers and applications.
We will now introduce a new 2016 server just to do management.
Do we need to run the HCW on that new exchange2016 server ?

kind regards,
Filip

    Hi , maybe i dind't explained completely.
    We need to uninstall the exchange2010 server and just use the 2016 as a management server (no need anymore to migrate mailboxes to the cloud nor there is need for mail transport between onprem and the cloud ) - just for information , this was not a full hybrid but a minimal hybrid , so no connectors were ever created.

    @FSO1983

    I would suggest you change DNS from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016, then rerun HCW to choose Exchange 2016 as hybrid server.

    Because, in a coexist environment with Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2016, we need to use Exchange 2016 as internet facing server. After choosing Exchange 2016 as hybrid server, you also could uninstall Exchange 2010 if you want. So, I would suggest you rerun HCW again.
