Adobe/OneDrive sync problems

I am using several Adobe CS6 and Creative Cloud programs. When I open files which are in the OneDrive folder they remain under the "sync pending" status, even if they are actually synced in File Explorer. This causes a problem for me as when I run Adobe Illustrator (for example) and open a folder with many AI files with similar file names, I cannot distinguish easily between them.

As shown when I open in Adobe Illustrator 2020 (This also happens in Photoshop 2020, Premiere Pro 2020 and Fireworks CS6:

As shown when I open in File Explorer:

Note: my OS is Version 1909, 64 bit, build 18363.535, Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM. The computer itself was originally a Windows 7 Professional before it was upgraded to 10.

I don't know exactly what may be causing the sync problems.  But generally speaking, you can't sync files to OneDrive if they are still open in an application.  So go to Task Manager > Processes and "End task" of these applications and see if that helps with OneDrive syncing.

You have to have all files located in OneDrive in order to have complete OneDrive backups of your projects.  For example, you need to sync your Documents folder to OneDrive if some project files are located in Documents.  That's why portable project files are the best for backing up.

You may need to open the Adobe software first and then open the project from the software.  That is my experience using the Movavi Video Editor.  I open the Movavi Video Editor software first and then from the app I select the project that I want to open.  If I go to the folder where the project is saved I can't seem to open it for some reason.  Not sure why I need to do it that way.

Open adobe first then open the project from the Adobe application.

    Hi,

Is this a setting that I can configure in OneDrive, or does it have to be under the Adobe programs?

    * I should also add that this sync pending problem also applies to folders as well. When I opened Fireworks for example, the folders were still showing as sync pending even after I set them to always available on device.

    Hi,

Are these projects saved as portable projects?  If you can do that it may help.  Some of these project files may be located in unsynced folders that are not in OneDrive.  If so you can't backup these projects correctly.
