How do I analyze non-numeric data in Excel? When I try to create a Pivot chart it comes out as unformatted nonsense. Trying to analyze data from a survey.

What kind of analysis you are looking from Non-Numeric data.
Best you can do is to group certain categories etc with Non- Numeric values in you data using Pivot.
