Text to table functionality on microsoft products.

Question

Have online Microsoft 365 and desktop installed Microsoft Office (not purchased). Neither has options for text to table in word or excel. What Microsoft product has it. My insert table only has on option, insert table. If I copy text with delimeters, there is no option to paste and convert it. I will upgrade but need to know what product offer this.

You can buy Office 2021 Home & Student directly from MS (change country code at bottom of page. https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/microsoft-365/p/office-home-student-2021/cfq7ttc0h8n8?activetab=pivot:overviewtab .

MS only ever sells most current version, not older versions.

Your other alternative is 365 Family/Personal.

Buying from MS is almost always at full price, most expensive. On rare occasions MS also have sales. You can also buy it from physical electronics stores and web stores (if you are careful).

Before buying anywhere, shop around. A few stores, like costco (only 1 know by name) sometimes sell "15 month for price of 12 licenses", these actually are legitimate.

But there are also some other discounts you should look in to also.

365 Family allows the renter to "share" with up to 5 other people. It costs nothing extra and the shares get "full" feature access to everything in 365. So find a family or friend who has an unused share, or is willing to split cost of upgrading from 365 Personal to Family. A 6way split of 365 Family only costs US$16.67 EACH person. Dirt cheap.

If someone works for a big company with lots of 365 Business subscriptions they maybe able to get a discounted subscription through the Home Use Program, HUP, discount. That is 30%. Another Good Deal.

There is also a similar discount for active and retired military.

The "desktop" Word would be the shortcut to the browser version that is installed on the desktop in Windows 10 and 11.

Is that the Icon you are using to get to Word?

This is new applet that MS released last year. If you have a 365 license, clicking on the application icons inside of it will start the Office 365 application. If you don't have a 365 license, it will launch the Web app.
