Desktop Excel vs Web Excel

Good afternoon all!

I am new to using web Excel and it seems different enough, that it's going to take longer to create a workbook and I will end up frustrated.

Can anyone tell me why I would have to use web Excel instead of desktop Excel?

My boss created a blank workbook and shared it with me, because he wants to be the "Owner". I opened it on my laptop at home and built a couple sheets on my desktop Excel, then saved it on my desktop and emailed it back to him as an attachment. When he opened the workbook that he had shared with me, none of the work I did was there.

Now I'm trying to just copy everything over to his "Shared" workbook, and when I try to "Paste Special" (Formulas and Formats), I get a different pop-up than what I am used to. I am such a creator of habit and am comfortable/confident with my knowledge of desktop Excel, I am getting irritated and losing my patience with web Excel.

Is it possible to accomplish what my boss wants, and use desktop Excel instead of web Excel, so I don't end up completely annoyed/irritated?

In that excel doc that you edited you have to Share, use the option to share as an attachment
