Save a Loop workspace as a template?

Hi,

I love Loop and I'd like to make it even more collaborative by creating workspace templates with pages there. So that other colleagues would be able to edit as needed, without modifying the original structure and content.

Saving individual pages is too cumbersome when there's more than 1-2 in a workspace, and it doesn't save sub-pages. Not to mention it doesn't always work (I've been getting an error that I reported separately when trying to save a page as template).

Is this considered in the roadmap? If yes, when can we expect this feature?

If not, I hope you add it :)

    Hello, Olga Anishenkova

I mean you can start fresh by creating a new page or workspace yourself, and then sharing it with others for use. This approach ensures that everyone has access to a clean and organized environment, tailored to the specific needs of the project.

    Hi Yuhao Li,

    Thank you for the response.

I don't see an option to create a master template, but perhaps I'm looking for it in the wrong places. Where would I find it? I tried creating templates from pages but they don't include sub-pages, and I can't find them in the template gallery afterwards.

I did submit a request for this feature (well, I upvoted the existing requests as I wasn't the first one).

    Thanks!

    Hello, Enno

    Do you mean this error?

It seems there’s a known issue with saving workspaces as templates in Microsoft Loop. Use the feedback option within Microsoft Loop to report the problem directly to the support team. This can also help them prioritize a fix.

Hello! Short question - when I use the function - create a template, loop crashes. Does it not work at the moment?

    Hello, Olga Anishenkova

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We appreciate your feedback and understand that this feature is important to you. While I don't have access to the specific roadmap, I can assure you that our team is constantly working on improving our products and adding new features. I recommend keeping an eye on our official announcements, blog posts, or social media channels for any updates regarding new features and their release dates.

I suggest you submit feedback to the developers so that they can potentially address this issue in the future. Microsoft often relies on user feedback to identify and prioritize fixes in their updates.  If many users report the same problem, it’s more likely to be addressed by the developers. Click on ··· > Help & feedback on the upper right corner.

Instead of saving individual pages, you can create a master template document with all the desired pages and sub-pages. Then, share this template document with your colleagues and instruct them to make a copy of it whenever they need to create a new workspace. This way, they can edit the copied document without modifying the original structure and content. Although this workaround may require some manual effort, it can help achieve the desired collaboration in Loop.
