    Dear @Debarghya Roy Choudhury,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Thank you for reaching out and describing your situation. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having difficulty accessing your university portal.

Please note that MFA settings are typically managed by your organization's IT administrator. In this case, I recommend contacting your admin to verify your MFA configuration or reset your authentication methods.

Please have your administrator follow the steps shown in the following article: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multi-factor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID …

If you need help finding your admin, please see: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

Screenshot of manage authentication methods from the Microsoft Entra admin center.

I sincerely hope your access is restored soon. If you run into any issues while trying the steps, or if something still doesn’t feel quite right, please don’t hesitate to reach out again. I’ll do my best to support you however I can.

Looking forward to hearing back from you with any updates or additional details.

    Warm regards,

If you are unable to access your University portal due to forgetting your password and the account being secured with the Microsoft Authenticator app, you can try the following steps:

    1. Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR): If your organization has enabled SSPR, you can use it to reset your password. This typically involves verifying your identity through the Authenticator app or other methods.
    2. Multiple Verification Methods: If you have configured multiple verification methods, try using a different method to sign in. For example, you might receive a verification code via SMS or email.
    3. Contact Support: If the above methods do not work, you may need to contact your university's IT support for assistance in resetting your password or accessing your account.
    4. Check Third-Party Apps: Ensure that any third-party security apps are not blocking the verification codes or calls from the Authenticator app.
    5. Re-register the Authenticator App: If you have access to your account recovery options, you may need to re-register the Authenticator app after resetting your password.

For more detailed troubleshooting steps, consider referring to the end-user troubleshooting guide provided by Microsoft.
