I am trying to access my previous year tax return. I got an error saying I need JavaScript. I recently purchased my computer and I'm not familiar with all the new technology.

    Hello!

I'm Yasllame, a member of the OnDemand Expert community.

JavaScript isn't something you need to install on your computer. It's already part of internet browsers like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, or Safari. This type of message usually appears when JavaScript is disabled in the browser you're using to access a website.

To resolve this, you need to enable JavaScript in your browser settings. Here's how to do it in the most common browsers:

    Mozilla Firefox

JavaScript is enabled by default. If it's not working, check if:

*There is an installed extension that blocks scripts.

*The website is being opened in a normal window (not a private window with additional blocks).

Make sure your browser is up to date.

Try accessing the website using another browser to confirm if the problem is with your current browser.

Avoid using older browsers, as some websites don't function correctly without JavaScript.

I'm happy to help and clarify.

To enable JavaScript on your computer using Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three dots in the upper right corner to access the menu.
    2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
    3. In the left sidebar, click on Cookies and site permissions.
    4. Scroll down and select JavaScript.
    5. Toggle the switch to allow JavaScript (it should be set to Allowed).

After enabling JavaScript, try accessing your tax return again. If you encounter any further issues, ensure that your browser is updated to the latest version for optimal performance.
