Hi,

I encountered an error when I logged in https://entra.microsoft.com today, it is details below:

Error code: AADSTS5000225

The tenant '默认目录 (455dfa68-8733-40a2-b0aa-7716e85f8072)' has been deauthenticated and is no longer available. Try signing into another tenant from the dropdown below. Error message: interaction_required: AADSTS5000225: This tenant has been blocked due to inactivity. I know I haven't logged in my azure ID in past days, it may be the root casue. Please unlock my tenant. I can't use any azure service currently.

Hi,

The error AADSTS5000225 means the Microsoft Entra tenant has been made inaccessible because of inactivity. This cannot be unlocked by other users on Microsoft Q&A.

Microsoft documentation says administrators can request reactivation within 20 days after the tenant enters the inactive state. If it remains inactive for more than 20 days, the tenant is deleted and cannot be recovered.

Please do the following:

Contact Microsoft support as soon as possible and request tenant reactivation.

Provide the tenant ID, Trace ID, Correlation ID, and timestamp from the error message.

Do not post any sensitive account or subscription details publicly in this thread.

If the tenant is already past the recoverable period, you may need to use another active tenant or create a new tenant.

The error message you are seeing indicates that your tenant has been inactive for more than 200 days after the billing cycle, which triggered Microsoft's process to remove inactive tenants. At this stage, the OMS commerce system places a login block AADSTS5000225, Twenty days after this block is applied, the tenant is permanently deleted.

To restore access, the tenant must have been blocked for less than 20 days. After 30 days, the tenant is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

We can reactivate your tenant only if it has been blocked for less than 20 days, please share the requested details in private message so that we can reactivate your account.

Only one tenant in my space, I can't log in and delete the tenant? so I have to wait 20 days?

Hi,

If the tenant is already blocked with AADSTS5000225, you normally cannot sign in to that tenant to delete it yourself. The tenant is in an inaccessible state.

You do not have to wait 20 days if you want the tenant back. Microsoft documentation says a tenant administrator can request reactivation within 20 days of the tenant becoming inaccessible.

If you do not need the tenant anymore, then yes, it will be deleted after the inactive period, but I would not rely on waiting if you still need access to Azure services or data.

Recommended next step:

Contact Microsoft Support and request tenant reactivation.

Provide the Tenant ID, Trace ID, Correlation ID, and timestamp from the sign-in error.

Mention that this is the only tenant you can see and you cannot access the portal to delete or reactivate it.
