Excel working

I am doing a course of deloitte through forage in which I have been given the task which requires the use of excel. When I downloaded the file and tried to open it I am unable to open it. It is saying that there is something which is preventing it from operating correctly. please tell me what can be done

    The best option is to perform a full repair of your Office installation.

    Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu).

    Go to Apps, then scroll down to find Microsoft Office

    Select that and choose Modify - Online Repair

    That should fix any issues with your Office Installation.
