Brand Kits not available when creating PowerPoint presentations from Microsoft 365 Copilot app + Custom Presentation Skills

Hello,

We're evaluating the new Brand Kit capabilities in Microsoft 365 Copilot and have run into some inconsistencies that I haven't been able to find documentation for.

Brand Kit availability

We have successfully:

• Enabled the Enterprise Brand Manager policy
• Created and published an Official Brand Kit
• Verified that the Brand Kit is visible in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app under Create → More → Brand Kits

However, when using the PowerPoint agent from within the Microsoft 365 Copilot app to create a presentation, there doesn't appear to be any option to select a Brand Kit.

My questions are:

1. Is Brand Kit selection currently supported when creating presentations through the Microsoft 365 Copilot app's PowerPoint experience?
2. If so, where should the option appear?
3. Why is the Brand Kit visible in the standalone PowerPoint application but not when using the PowerPoint experience from within the Microsoft 365 Copilot app?
4. Are there any licensing, configuration, or rollout requirements that would cause Brand Kits to appear in one experience but not the other?
5. Are they available for people that are on M365 Copilot Basic?

Custom presentation skills

I'm also interested in creating reusable presentation-generation workflows.

For example, I would like to create a custom presentation skill that:

• Uses a specific Brand Kit
• Applies predefined presentation instructions
• Follows a standard slide structure
• Generates presentations for a recurring business scenario

Are custom presentation skills currently supported in Microsoft 365 Copilot? If so:

1. How are they created?
2. Can they be associated with PowerPoint presentation generation?

Any guidance from Microsoft or from organizations already using Brand Kits in production would be greatly appreciated.

About Brand Kit availability

1/ Is Brand Kit selection currently supported when creating presentations through the Microsoft 365 Copilot app's PowerPoint experience?

Yes, it's supported but maybe not for all tenant at the moment. The feature to select a brant kit directly within Copilot in PowerPoint when generating presentations is currently rolling out starting in mid-June 2026. Therefore, if you do not see the selector, that can be expected that the feature has not been routed to your tenant yet.

2/ Where should the option appear?

The option is expected to appear as "Select brand" in the Copilot flow when generating a presentation. You can take a look in the above article for an illustrative image.

3/ Why is the Brand Kit visible in the standalone PowerPoint application but not when using the PowerPoint experience from within the Microsoft 365 Copilot app?

Because these are different product surfaces with separate rollout path. Your Brand Kit is published correctly, but the Microsoft Copilot app's presentation-agent UI has not exposed the same brand picker.

4/ Licensing, configuration or rollout requirements to check

• Ensure user has Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium license
• Enterprise Brand Manager policy is configured correctly: a mail-enabled security group for brand manager, the Elevated role for Brand Managers policy enabled, tenant scope, priority 0, and the correct security group mail.

5/ Are they available for people that are on M365 Copilot Basic?

As the official Brand Kit feature requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium license, users on Microsoft 365 Copilot Basic are not available to experience a full Brand Kit features as described.

About custom presentation skill

1/ Are custom presentation skills currently supported in Microsoft 365 Copilot?

No, it's not available yet. Microsoft Message Center published on July 20 indicates that One-Drive stored user-defined custom skills will start rolling out from late July 2026. 2/ How are they created?

According to Microsoft's PowerPoint support article, the creation path is:

• Open Copilot in PowerPoint
• Select the ... menu in the Copilot pane > Manage skills > Custom skills
• Select Create OneDrive folder > open the skills folder in OneDrive
• Add a separate folder for each skill, with a SKILL.md file inside

3/ Can they be associated with PowerPoint presentation generation?

Refer to the above article, it is available within Copilot in PowerPoint. Microsoft states that custom skills appear in the Choose skills list in the Copilot pane, and users can invoke a specific skill by selecting it or by using an @mention in the PowerPoint Copilot prompt.

(M365 Admin Handsontek and Merill Microsoft 365 Message Center Archive are non-Microsoft websites. Those pages appear to be providing accurate, safe information.
