How to stop IP(40.74.108.123 and 40.70.184.83) sending from Windows server

Question

Windows server keep sending data to 40.74.108.123 and 40.70.184.83.

When I search the internet I found that those ip are belong to Microsoft Corporation.

Anyone knows how to stop this IP sending?

Hi,

Looks like these two IP addresses are owned by Microsoft Azure, easiest would be to block those IP addresses in the firewall, but before doing so I would check which services these two IP addresses actually belong to, if your server/environment is running in Microsoft Azure, it may be something needed for your server/environment.

You can perform some network tracing with Wireshark or other similar tools.

Hi,

After my research, the two ip '4074.108.123' '40.70.184.83' belong to Microsoft Azure service. But you have to first locate which applications are sending network traffic to these specific ips and then can stop the IP sending. It is a safer way not to affect the normal use of your computer.

If the applications are related to Azure, the traffic might be a normal phenomenon, please refer to Azure team for more professional suggestions.

You can use resource monitor or download network monitor(more detailed) to monitor network traffic. Following is the download link of network monitor :
