    Wow, this is a really frustrating subject matter, I've been arguing with Dell about it for weeks now only to find out their support knows but the sales teams don't.

    It is compatible. Windows Essential server branding is not a separate OS version from the standard version, it is only a licensing distinction.

    At the page bottom you could ask by submitting feedback. Could have simply been overlooked since you cannot buy Server 2022 Essentials without purchase of hardware.
