Hi
I just got a new computer and I would like to install SQL Server 2019 Developer's edition. I am running Windows 11 Pro.
I am getting the copy of the program here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/sql-server/sql-server-downloads
I get an error:
"Oops...
A required file could not be downloaded. This could mean the version of the installer is no longer supported. Please download again from the download site. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=866662"

I tried to download the installer on my windows 10 pro machine. Same issue.
One of the proposed solutions is to make changes to registry. I'm not comfortable doing that.
Is there a way to get Microsoft to investigate?

I am not familiar with that link. How did you get there? Can you please advise the steps you took to get to that link?
I googled in order to find a solution and came across a powershell script to automatically install SQL Server 2019 Developer edition. That script contains a direct link to the iso file.
As you can see in the URL, the iso link is hosted by Microsoft and as such an official download. The iso file is about 1.3GB. To install SQL you have to mount the iso as a virtual CD drive or unzip it with a tool like 7-zip. Then run setup.exe to start the installer process.

You're not in the network meaning you copied the download file from somewhere else?
Maybe the download file is corrupted, you can follow my advice and try again on the computer that downloaded the file or you can download the file from somewhere else and copy it to this machine to install.

Yes. As you mentioned, there is noting wrong with the version and download website. However, it seems there is something wrong with the downloaded file.
Could you try to change the network or another disk to store that file?
