Exercise 1: Optimize financial reporting and acquisition modeling using Microsoft Copilot
Financial analysts often need to connect cost data, reporting discussions, business information, and financial models. In this exercise, you'll use Microsoft Copilot to move from operational data to acquisition insights and scenario analysis.
You'll use several Copilot experiences across the connected tasks:
- Copilot in Excel helps you analyze product costs and model acquisition scenarios.
- Copilot in Teams helps you summarize simulated meeting notes and identify actions.
- Copilot Chat helps you analyze a potential acquisition and organize findings for decision-makers.
Scenario
You're a Financial Analyst at Fabrikam, Inc., a global manufacturer of sustainable consumer products. Fabrikam is launching a new product line and evaluating the potential acquisition of Relecloud, a technology company that could expand its digital product portfolio.
You'll analyze cost data, summarize reporting requirements, evaluate Relecloud's business information, and test acquisition assumptions. Each task builds on information or files from the previous tasks.
Note
You'll complete the tasks in your own Microsoft 365 environment. The Copilot experiences available to you depend on your organization's licensing and tenant configuration, and your results might differ from the examples and instructions.
Now that you have the scenario, you're ready to begin. Continue to the next unit to start the exercise.
