Exercise 2: Streamline contract analysis and negotiation using Microsoft Copilot
Contract analysis requires finance teams to compare complex terms, assess risk, develop negotiation strategies, and communicate recommendations clearly. In this exercise, you'll use Microsoft Copilot to move from contract review to collaborative action.
You'll use several Copilot experiences across the connected tasks:
- Copilot Chat helps you compare vendor contracts and identify financial and operational risks.
- Copilot in PowerPoint helps you turn contract findings into an executive presentation.
- Copilot in Loop helps you organize negotiation, risk mitigation, and communication actions.
- Copilot in Outlook helps you request feedback and coordinate review.
Scenario
You're a Financial Analyst at Fabrikam, Inc., a global manufacturer of smart building systems and automation technologies. Fabrikam's leadership team launched a Cost Optimization and Risk Reduction initiative focused on two vendor contracts for components used in a new smart sensor product line.
You'll compare the contracts, identify risks and negotiation opportunities, prepare a leadership presentation, organize actions for review, and request feedback from Finance colleagues. Each task builds on files and recommendations from the previous tasks.
Note
You'll complete the tasks in your own Microsoft 365 environment. The Copilot experiences available to you depend on your organization's licensing and tenant configuration, and your results might differ from the examples and instructions.
Now that you have the scenario, you're ready to begin. Continue to the next unit to start the exercise.
