how to import PST file to existing user email on the outlook 365 cloud

Hi folks.

I have several users who have archive emails, on their computers.

These are legacies from when they used Exchange 2010. when they migrated it, it seems they didnt migrate the archive.

is there a way to add those PST files to their current outlook cloud?

    Hi @ ewidjaya

    If you want to choose to import PST file to Outlook client, you need to select the specified M365 mailbox instead of the folder when importing. In this way, the imported data will be uploaded to the cloud instead of remaining in the local machine.

    Each user could simply open the pst in their own Outlook and import that way.

    There is no native Exchange powershell command to do this in Exchange Online

    However there are options:

    To import a PST file to your existing email account in Outlook 365 cloud, you have two options: network upload and drive shipping. Here's how you can proceed:

    Network Upload Method:

    • Log in to the Office 365 portal using your admin credentials.
    • Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    • Select your user account and click on "Mail."
    • Choose "Upload your PST file" in the "Import PST file" section.
    • Follow the wizard's instructions, selecting the upload option.
    • Locate the PST file on your computer and upload it.
    • Wait for the upload to complete.
    • Choose the import settings that suit your preferences.
    • Click "Finish" to start the import process.
    • Your PST file's contents will be available in your Outlook 365 account once the import finishes. Drive Shipping Method:
    • Prepare a hard drive or USB drive.
    • Copy your PST file to the drive.
    • Disconnect the drive safely.
    • In the Microsoft 365 admin center, select your user account and go to "Mail."
    • Click on "Ship hard drives to Microsoft" in the "Import PST file" section.
    • Follow the instructions to create a shipping order and generate a BitLocker recovery key.
