Sideload Powerpoint for max add-in not working

I am trying to sideload an add-in that i have developed.

I have placed the add-in into /Users/<username>/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Powerpoint/Data/Documents/wef

but it is not showing up in my powerpoint when i load an instance.

Separately, i also dont see 'Options' in the file menu or 'upload my add-in' in the add-in centre which documentation says i should.

I am currently working on mac, office 365 family.
