If I am working in Teams (in a teams meeting or on an outgoing teams phone call) and my teams status is showing unavailable, why does teams not immediately divert incoming calls to voicemail.

It is incredibly distraction to have the teams phone ringing when I'm trying to concentrate in a meeting or converse with the person I'm already on a call with. This seems to be a basic error in the way the system operates, is there a way to fix this?

    Hello Graham,

did you have already tried to see if the Teams web Client vs. the Teams desktop Client (installed) generates the same issue? In this way, you will be able to understand better if it's a general Teams issue that happens for your account, or it depends by the environment where you're working.

Example: often happens that in the desktop client (installed in Windows or other OS) doesn't work properly and generates those type of issues, for some conflicts with internal files and system settings.

This is an expected behavior by product design "Users receive calls in all presence states except for Do not disturb, in which incoming calls go to voicemail". https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/presence-admins

During Teams Meetings you could put your state on Do not disturb or temporarily to change call answering rules in Teams app as is showed following imagen: User's image
