What Azure services to use to export Table data from Azure sql to a flat file securely.

Flat file should be stored in a secured place in some azure services. No transformation required during export & No manual querying from azure or no manual uploading of flat file.

Import of flat file may be done by consumer by manually downloading it or might be automated through azure services.

    Hi
    Christopher Disilva Hirudayanathan
    •,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum and thanks for using Azure Services.

As I understand, you want to export Azure SQL Database Table data to a flat file directly.

Please open Query Editor through Azure Portal on the Database. Then Open Table and display content of the table using query and use option to export as csv, as shown in the below gif:

    SQLDBQuerySave

Please try if this helps for your case.

Also let us know the configuration details of your Azure SQL Database, number of records to be exported etc so that we can suggest you other options if above does not help.

    Thanks

    Hi

    •,

    Thanks for the details.

You may use https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/security/encryption/encrypt-a-column-of-data?view=sql-server-ver16 to do encryption of column of data.

Could perform Dynamic Data Masking too using Mask Functions as shown below:

Also, you could use Azure Data Factory/Azure Synapse Analytics/Azure Databricks to accomplish same result.

Let us know if you have more questions on the usage.

    Thanks
