Intune vs Tanium

I'm charged to do a study comparing Microsoft Intune vs Tanium platform.

I don't know guys if you can help with some informations about the main differences between the 2, the advantages and inconvenient of each one, and maybe some documents if you have,

According to your description, I know that you want to compare Intune to Tanium.

Based on my researching, I found that Microsoft Intune is a cloud-based endpoint management solution. It manages user access and simplifies app and device management across your many devices, including mobile devices, desktop computers, and virtual endpoints. You can protect access and data on organization-owned and users personal devices. And, Intune has compliance and reporting features that support the Zero Trust security model. Intune support Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, IOS/iPadOS, ChromeOS.

Tanium is an endpoint security solution that provides real-time data and intelligence to IT personnel. Tanium support Linux, MacOS, Windows, Solaris, AIX, VID.  

The difference between Intune and Tanium are as follows:

• Microsoft Intune is an endpoint management solution for mobile devices while Tanium is focused on threat detection and service management.
• Microsoft Intune is more friendly to novices because Intune has official documents for reference while Tanium do not have official documents.
• Microsoft Intune has a clear UI for users to operate while Tanium UI is not very user-friendly.
• Microsoft Intune do not need customer to maintain if there is something wrong while Tanium management is on premises requiring the customer to maintain it.
• Microsoft Intune supports more platforms while Tanium supports certain platforms.

@Mohamed jihad bayali I believe both tools offer similar functionality and there is definitely overlap, but Tanium at a base level is a Discovery tool and Intune is an Endpoint Management tool.

Tanium Pros/Cons:

• Live Discovery and reporting on all devices with Tanium agent installed
• Tanium agents can discover devices connected to your network that are not managed by Tanium
• Tanium reporting offers simple English quires that can be run to quickly create reports on your environment without scripting or KQL knowledge
• Tanium offers Patching, App deployment, Compliance, Endpoint Configuration, Performance Monitoring, and Certificate Monitoring Module Add-Ons
• Supports Windows, Linux, and MAC
• Can manage Server OS
• Tanium Cant Manage iOS or Android
• More Frequent agent checking than Intune resulting in faster app deployment
• 3rd party prebuilt app library
• Requires on-prem sensors for AD connection and deployments

Intune Pros/Cons:

• Can Manage iOS and Android
• Can Manage Windows, Linux, and MAC
• Cant Manage Servers
• Integrated with Entra ID
• Integrated with Defender for Endpoint Management
• More documentation available
• Integration with Microsoft Store, Google Play, and Apple Store
• Less frequent agent check-ins
• Included is multiple Microsoft Licenses
• Basic Reporting
• Cant report on devices not managed by Intune
• Autopilot enrollment
• No on-prem infrastructure
