Rollaback oldest roaming profile to local profile

Question

Hi,

I have operating in my domain the users roaming profiles from 20 years.

Now, due a mandatory policy, I need to rollback all roaming profiles to local profile for deactivate actual profile server.

I not know if is possible and eventually by what procedures.

I have two GPO for profile and folders path.

My doubt concern the risk that I do reinstall all applications on client due the actual path that not depend from GPO and cannot deploy a GPO to do this because many, many application not operate with one GPO.

I appreciate any suggestion.

Been a long time but if I recall correctly at logon the roaming profile is copied local, then at logoff it gets copied back. So turn off the gpo and users should just use the local profile.

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

1. To change roaming profile to local profile,need to change the setting：

Right-click My Computer, and then select Properties to display the System Properties dialog box (or simply select or double-click System in Control Panel).

Select the Advanced tab, then, under User Profiles, click Settings. The User Profiles dialog box appears.

After selecting the profile that is to be changed, click Change Type, and then select Roaming Profile or Local Profile as appropriate.

2. Please disable the GPO setting about roaming profile.

Note: Please had better do some similar tests in lab before you take action in production environment.
